The paintings, Clearing 1 and 2...My current work often describes an ordinary but much-loved local woodland, some of which was felled by Storm Arwen and partially cleared and replanted. The paintings, Clearing 1 and 2 and Snow-covered Fallen Pine are based on these local woods, prior to Storm Arwen. The trees depicted in the paintings are now gone, replaced by clear-fell and mixed planting.
