"In a forest of a hundred thousand trees, no two leaves are alike. And no two journeys
along the same path are alike." Paulo Coelho

Drawing is a journey and unfurls in curious ways. Slowly, all attempts to analyse
subside, and you are simply absorbed by the act of looking. The haptic unravelling of
form, the still attentiveness to subject as your hand moves across the page and
intuitively feels through mark-making - it's a subliminally sensitive process.

Charcoals responsiveness captures the energy and emotion of the subject, breaking
against the impenetrable blackness of the deep crevices and leaving delicate, velvety
marks over the cushioning touch of lichen. Under the shadowed boughs of an ancient
oak, this journey, if you allow it, guides you to the depths of your soul. Life reflects back
at you, and acceptance of the liminal space between decay, renewal, fragility, and
strength offers a profound sense of stillness.

As a multi-disciplinary artist, working across drawing, sculpture, installation, sound and
text, my work contemplates our journey and the tangible and intangible marks left by
the paths we follow. By exploring ontological themes of dualities, interdependence, and
transitoriness, I delve into the tension between presence and absence, permanence
and impermanence, and how these opposing forces shape our existence.

My practice navigates the interplay between the seen and unseen, questioning the
boundaries of reality and highlighting the interconnectedness of all things. Through this
exploration, I aim to evoke a sense of both reflection and continuity, encouraging the
viewers to consider the underlying essence of nature and our shared human
experience.
